I’ve Started a Podcast
If you follow me on social media you’ll know that at the end of last year I started a podcast with my friend Joe, a branding and website expert I met during the pandemic at a church comms conference. We realised we had overlapping skills and interests so we kept in touch and we ended up doing a bit of work together, referring each other and after a long time talking about it, we decided to start our podcast.
So finally, Gourds and Pomegranates Podcast was born.
We’re keeping it on a fairly beginners level but covering a range of different topics from comms strategies, understanding different social media platforms, photography, websites, behind the scenes planning and policy recommendations. We’re going in at a beginners level because we think there is still a missing gap of resources and advice for those who are not entirely confident with photoshop or those who don’t have a full team to help with comms.
It’s been amazing working with Joe as he’s so wise technically with the kit stuff but also just being able to bounce ideas off. I’ll say something, he might counter it with his ideas or experience and I’ll not have thought of it in that way before.
It is still early days but I’m excited that series 2 has been released today! For our first episode back we’re asking it ‘Is it worth the time?’, is investing time, effort, resources and money into church comms worth it? You’ll have to listen to find out our answer.
It’s also fun dropping into conversations ‘…this is the guy I do my podcast with…’ or ‘…on my podcast we talked about that recently…’ or even just being able to add to my portfolio ministry – podcaster
